Our Origins<\/p>\n\n\n

Team 7157 began as a rookie FRC team operating out of Brea Olinda High School with little to no resources, leading to a robot built in a mentor\u2019s garage equipped with only a drill press, and a table saw.<\/span><\/p>


<\/p>

In spite of these setbacks, \u03bcBotics functioned as distinguished OC Regional semi-finalist, recipient of the \u201cRookie All-Star Award,\u201d and competitor at the 2018 World Championships within their first year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Growth<\/p>\n\n\n

After a successful first season, Team 7157 expanded its reach to Fullerton, working with students from there. Continuing their local STEM enrichment, \u03bcbotics mentors the Junior High\u2019s VEX team and Fanning Elementary School\u2019s FIRST Lego League Program, helping host a local Vex competition in May of 2022. <\/br><\/br>Over the past few years, we have been met with much success winning AVR and becoming the Johnson Division 2023 semi-finalists along with winning Beach Blitz and OCR and becoming Daly Division finalists in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Our Future<\/h3>\n\n\n

Team 7157 has been very successful over the past few years and hopes to maintain that. In the 2026 season, we are hoping to win multiple district competitions and advance to worlds. We are eagerly awaiting our chance to advance to Einstein’s and compete with the top teams. With the extraordinary display of our efforts and success last year, we have achieved a lot this past season. We hope to continue this success into the 2026 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

First Robotics Competition<\/span><\/p>\n\n

First Robotics Competition (FRC) is a high school robotics competition in which students have 6 weeks to create a fully functional robot form the ground up. Starting over two decades ago, the competition has continued to expand with over 3000 teams participating, annually.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Once build season starts, students utilize CAD (Computer Aided Design) to create 3D designs of parts and full robot assemblies which are then manufactured.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n

To actually get the robot moving, the team must write the code for controlling the Robot. Students are responsible for managing and writing all of the software. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Students work together to bring their robot design to life, using power tools and machinery under the supervision of professional adults.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

All funds are student managed. This gives members an opportunity to practice applying for grants, handling finances, and using professional communication skills.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Our 2026 season has yet to begin. With our extraordinary display of effort and success in the past few years, we have achieved a lot. Despite the hardships, our team never gave up and in the end, had great results. We are excited to move into the 2026 season with high hopes!<\/p>\n\n\n
